February Nail Art Challenge Final Day: Recreate your favorite!

I'm sad it's the last day of this! This has been so fun. I'm glad Erica does more of these! For my recreate I decided to re-do my Glitter-Loaded nails. I wanted to do a different concept that I thought of right after I submitted my first one on day 3. This time I used an untried Julep "Jane" which is the beautiful gold, Julep "Petra" next to it which didn't have enough sparkle, so I put a coat of Sinful Colors "Forget Now" on top of that lol.

So sparkly! So that's it for the challenge! Looking forward to the next one! :)

February Nail Art Challenge Day 8: Polka Dots!

I used 2 beautiful untrieds for this one that put me in a Spring time mood. First of all, I wanted to show how pretty and soft this Julep "Audrey" is for my background:

So pretty with a little shimmer! Then I used Julep "Alfre" for the polka dots. I wish I had a better camera because this purple is so pretty:

I also wanted to show that each center dot is Orly "Bubbly Bombshell" for a little sparkle effect, but again you would see that better with a better camera... or in person. :-P

I love polka dots, though. They're always a cute design for nails! I can't believe this challenge is almost over! :-(

February Nail Art Challenge Day 7: Inspired by a Tutorial

The tutorial I went off of was for water marble nails found at My Simple Little Pleasures. I also used Erica's idea of using dollar store plastic shot glasses for the water holders where you drop your polish in, and it worked perfectly! You can find that here. So here is what I did for Day 7:

It worked so well! I've had a lot of trouble with water marbling in the past, but with Erica's tips and using a better nail polish it really turned out great. I used Julep "Suzi" as a base coat, then Julep "Eva", "Gloria", and "Felicity" for the beautiful colors.

February Nail Art Challenge Day 6: Gradient!

Okay, first of all I need to fix something I'm totally embarrassed about. I just now noticed the little sign we have to have in the pictures for this challenge had the wrong link to my blog! I confused myself and put my nickname "Polishaholic" instead of polishandchocolateallday....OMG.

So I fixed that tonight and I wanted everyone to know I'm not a fake, I'm just clueless lol!

Anyways, I still need to practice gradients, like bad, but here's what I did:

I love these blues. LOVE them. Gradients are hard for me to do, but I did it. I used an untried Julep "Susie", L'Oreal "Club Prive", Julep "Donna", and Covergirl Outlast Stay Brilliant "Snow Storm" for the background. Here's how I did it:

I painted the white on first for a background. Then I used the 3 blues in this order:

And painted them on a makeup sponge:

(Sorry the picture is of the sponge after I used it.. I forgot to take the picture before lol.) Then I dabbed it on my nails until I got the desired look. I did this 2 times on each nail after they dried the first time. I feel I could've blended it better, but practice makes perfect, right?

This was before cleaning up and putting a top coat on:

As always, I ended with Orly's clear top coat. So glossy!

February Nail Art Challenge Day 5: Valentine's Day Nails!

I couldn't decide what I wanted to do between some different things I was coming up with, so I did different things on both hands! This was very time consuming, but I'm happy with it. I free handed everything so it's a little sloppy, but I tried hard lol.

I used pointed q-tips and toothpicks to do this. I love this blue! I used an untried Julep "Donna", untried Julep "Eva", and Essie "Muchi Muchi". Happy Valentine"s Day!!

February Nail Art Challenge Day 4: Inspired By A Pattern!

Here we are on day 4! I chose my pattern from something I saw on Pinterest which led me to this blog: http://www.spektorsnails.com/2012/09/leopard-skittle-nails-tiny-tutorial.html. This is her mini tutorial:

So my pattern is leopard print! But I did the bright Skittles colors!

I love these! The colors and leopard prints together are so fun together! It sure was tricky, especially doing my right hand since I'm right-handed and my left hand has a mind of its own. All in all this is one of my favorites. :)

Edit: Ah! I forgot to put the polish I used haha. Here they are:

Untried -  Julep "Madison"
China Glaze "Celtic Sun"
Untried - Julep "Leah"
L'Oreal "Club Prive"
L'Oreal "Butterfly Kisses"
Untried - Julep "Felicity"
Untried - Julep "Leslie"
